CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT ON
VACATION OF SPRUCE; •6 RELET
-WEST OF MERCED STREET
1. The following plan and legal descriptions are incorporated as part
of this reuort:
Drawing Number 538, Case Plumber 1602
Descriptions LD 71-9 and LD 71-10
2. The affected street is shown as a dedicated public street on "Tract 1113",
filed May 21, 1952 in Map Book 33, pages 2 and 3, Alameda County Records.
The street is shown on said map as "Spruce Avenue".
3. The serving utilities were notified of the proposed abandonment and all
replied they had.no objection to the abandonment provided that an ease-
ment be reserved for the telephone and power line facilities (10 feet
wide), and for a storm drain (10 feet wide)•. The easement requirements
are shown on the accompanying map.
The subject abandonment will not deprive property owners access to a
public street.
5. I recommend that the City reserve and encept from the vacation, a
permanent easement for all purposes set forth in Section 5-a.1-1.08
of the San Leandro Municipal Code of 1957.
The City Engineer finds that the portion of the street, described under
:Jo. 1 above, is unnecessary for present and future public use for street purposes
and recommends that the City Council proceed with the proposed abandonment.
Richard II.
