y
CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT ON
VACATION OF ALVARADO STREET
BETWEEN DAVIS STREET AND ANTONIO STREET
1. The following plan and legal descriptions are incorporated as
part of this report:
Drawing No. 417, Case No. 1603
Description LD 71-20
2. The affected street is shown as a public street on the map of
the "Town of San Leandro, County Seat of Alameda County" filed
February 27, 1855, in Map Book 2, page 43, Alameda County Records.
3. The serving utilities were notified of the proposed abandonment
by letter from the Caterpillar Tractor Company dated August 27,
1971 and replies indicate no objection to the abandonment on the
condition that the entire right of way be reserved as a public
utility easement until such time as all utilities are relocated
outside of the vacated street.
4. The subject vacation will not deprive property owners access to a
public street.
5. I recommend that the City reserve and except from the vacation,
a public utility easement described as the parcel under item
No. 1. This easement to be used for all purposes set forth under
the San Leandro Municipal Code of 1957 Section 5-a.1-108. The
easement is to be retained until such time as all utilities are
relocated outside of the vacated street.
The City Engineer finds that the portion of the street, described
under No. 1 above, is unnecessary for present and future public use for
street purposes and recommends that the City Council proceed with the
proposed vacation.
Richard 11.
