<br />RESOLUTION NO. 29M C.M.S.
<br />OLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF
<br />-AOPOSED ANNEXATION OF SAN
<br />LEANDRO INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT,
<br />UNIT NO. 70 (American Blower Cor-
<br />poration).
<br />Whereas, this City Council has re-
<br />ceived the written petition containing
<br />a description of the hereinafter de-
<br />scribed territory by which it is sought
<br />to annex such territory to this City,
<br />which petition is signed by the owner
<br />of not less than one-fourth of the land
<br />in the territory by area, to wit: the
<br />owner of all of said land and of all of
<br />the assessed value as shown on the
<br />last equalized assessment roll of the
<br />county in which the territory is situ-
<br />ated; and
<br />Whereas, prior to the filing of the
<br />above mentioned petition, the proposal
<br />for the annexation of the hereinafter
<br />described real property to the City of
<br />San Leandro was submitted to and re-
<br />ported upon to the proponents thereof
<br />by the Alameda County Boundary Com-
<br />mission of the State of California, with
<br />respect to the definiteness and certain-
<br />ty of the proposed boundaries, the non-
<br />conformance of proposed boundaries
<br />with lines of assessment or ownership,
<br />the creation of islands or corridors of
<br />unincorporated territory and other sim-
<br />ilar matters affecting the proposed
<br />boundaries; and
<br />Whereas, it appears to this Council
<br />that it would be to the advantage of
<br />this City that said territory be an-
<br />nexed; and
<br />Whereas, said territory is uninhab-
<br />ited:
<br />Now, therefore, the City Council of
<br />the City of San Leandro does Resolve
<br />as follows:
<br />That notice is hereby given that it is
<br />proposed to annex to the City of San
<br />Leandro the hereinafter described prop-
<br />erty which may be and is hereby
<br />designated for identification as the "San
<br />Leandro Industrial District, Unit No.
<br />70 (American Blower Corporation);
<br />That notice is hereby further given
<br />that at 7:15 o'clock P.M., on September
<br />11, 1956, in the Council Chambers of the
<br />City Hall, San Leandro, California, any
<br />person owning real property within
<br />the boundaries of the hereinafter de-
<br />scribed territory so proposed to be an-
<br />nexed and having any objections to the
<br />proposed annexation may appear be-
<br />fore this City Council and show cause
<br />why such territory should not be an-
<br />nexed;
<br />That at any time not later than the
<br />hour set for hearing objections to the
<br />proposed annexation, any owner of
<br />property within the territory proposed
<br />to be annexed may file written protest
<br />against the proposed annexation. Such
<br />protest shall state the name of the
<br />owner of the property affected thereby
<br />and the description and area of such
<br />property in general terms;
<br />That the territory herein referred to
<br />Is uninhabited and is contiguous to the
<br />present boundary line of the City;
<br />That the boundaries of the territory
<br />hereinabove proposed to be annexed
<br />are specifically described as all that
<br />land situated in the township of Eden,
<br />Alameda County, California bounded
<br />as follows:
<br />Commencing at a point on the north-
<br />western line of First Avenue (West
<br />Avenue 132), said line being the City of
<br />San Leandro Boundary as established
<br />by Ordinance No. 758 N.S. and as shown
<br />on that certain map entitled "Map De-
<br />lineating Boundary of Territory An-
<br />nexed to the City of San Leandro, Cali-
<br />fornia by Ordinance No. 769 N.S. under
<br />Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
<br />Act of 1989," filed June 25, 1948 in Book
<br />16 of Maps at page 42, Records of Ala-
<br />meda County, California, distant north
<br />62` 80' east 1362.44 feet from the inter-
<br />section thereof with the northeastern
<br />line of Menlo Street, 100 feet wide, as
<br />said last named street is shown on the
<br />map of "Mulford Gardens, Unit No. 1,"
<br />filed May 2, 1927 in Book 12 of Maps at
<br />page 69 in the Office of the County Re-
<br />corder of Alameda County; thence north
<br />27' 30' west 637.50 feet along the south-
<br />western line of the tract of land an-
<br />nexed to the City of San Leandro by
<br />Ordinance No. 805 N.S. and as shown on
<br />that certain map entitled "Map Delin-
<br />eating Boundary of Territory Annex to
<br />the City of San Leandro, California by
<br />Ordinance No. 805 N.S. under Annexa-
<br />tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of
<br />1939," filed March 30, 1950 in Book 22 of
<br />Maps at page 86, Records of Alameda
<br />County, California, to the actual point
<br />of beginning of the parcel of land to be
<br />described; thence continuing north 27"
<br />30' west 15.00 feet; thence north 62° 30'
<br />east 688.29 feet to the southwestern
<br />line of Merced Street, said line of Mer-
<br />ced Street being the City of San Le-
<br />andro Boundary line as established by
<br />Ordinance No. 957 N.S.; and as shown
<br />on that certain map entitled "Map De-
<br />lineating Boundary of Territory Annex
<br />to the City of San Leandro, California
<br />by Ordinance No. 957 N.S. under An-
<br />nexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
<br />of 1939," filed January 19, 1955 in Book
<br />32 of Maps at page 58A, Records of
<br />Alameda County, California; thence
<br />along the last named line, south 27° 30'
<br />east 15.00 feet to the northwestern line
<br />of the said tract of land annexed to the
<br />City of San Leandro by Ordinance No.
<br />805 N.S.; thence along the last named
<br />line south 62° 30' west 683.29 feet to
<br />the actual point of beginning.
<br />The above described parcel contain-
<br />ing 0.235 acres, more or less.
<br />Introduced by Councilman Maltester
<br />and passed and adopted this 6th day of
<br />August, 1956, by the following called
<br />vote:
