We do not wait and transport the patient
to his home or to other institutions,
6. (Question) what effect will annexation have on present fire insur-
ance rates? What reduction could be expected dollar -wise?
(Answer) By contact with the Board of Fire Underwriters, we were
assured that upon annexation and the installation of fire hydrants
necessary to adequately protect the area, our present N.B.F.U. (Question) Would there be a reduction of natural gas rates, and if
so, to what extent?
(Answer) Natural gas rates will probably decrease, but specific in-
formation on the amount of decrease should be obtained directly from
the P.G.&E. (It is our general understanding that the decrease
would amount to 10%.)
8. (Ouestion) Could we expect representation on the San Leandro City
Council?
(Answer) The Chabot Area residents would have representation on the
same basis as any other area of the City. The City is divided, for
purposes of representation, into six districts with one councilman
elected from each district and one councilman elected at large, (The
voters of the entire City vote for all councilmen.) These districts
are as nearly equal as possible in population. The City will redist-
rict prior to the 1958 councilmanic election. It will again redistrict,
by Charter requirement, in 1960.
Yours very truly,
(Signed) Wesley McClure, City Manager
