IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT PERMISSION TO COMMENCE <br />ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS FOR CHABOT AREA BE GRANTED <br />Whereas, the City Council of the City of San Leandro did on April 29, <br />1957 refer to this Planning Commission the matter of reporting on the con- <br />struction of buildings and public improvements in the Chabot Area, an accu- <br />rate legal description of which territory is on file in the office of the <br />City Clerk, and to make recommendations concerning the annexation of the <br />area; and <br />Whereas, a special meeting of the Planning Commission duly and regu- <br />larly called for and held on this 22nd day of May, 1957, said matter was <br />duly considered and evidence both oral and documentary having been presented, <br />the hearing closed, and the Planning Commission being fully advised in the <br />premises, now finds: <br />That private buildings located in the Chabot Area were constructed to <br />the same standards and subject to the same type of construction as build- <br />ings constructed at approximately the same time within the City of San Le- <br />andro, that said area is generally free of building nonconformities, that <br />70 per cent of the buildings in said area were built to electrical stand- <br />ards comparable to electrical standards of the City of San Leandro, that <br />the electrical systems of homes in said area conform to minimum Code re- <br />quirements of the City of San Leandro, that there is a lack of adequate <br />curb, gutter, drainage, sewer and sidewalk improvements, and that fire <br />protection facilities in said area are inferior to fire protection fa- <br />cilities in the City of San Leandro. <br />That the Planning Commission, being fully advised in the premises <br />and cognizant of the above findings, hereby recommends that consent be <br />given to the request of the proponents of annexation, and that said <br />-1- <br />
