IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1220 N. S.- <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF SAN LEANDRO <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, UNIT NO. 80 <br />(Mary Joseph Cunha) <br />Whereas, the City Council of the City of San Leandro on June 1, <br />1959, in response to the written petition of Mary Joseph Cunha, she being <br />the sole owner of all of the territory proposed to be annexed, passed its <br />Resolution No. 3999 C.M.S. and thereby duly and regularly initiated pro- <br />ceedings to annex the hereinafter described territory; and <br />Whereas, prior to the filing of the above -mentioned petition, <br />the proposal for the annexation of the hereinafter described real property <br />to the City of San Leandro was submitted to and reported upon to the pro- <br />ponents thereof by the Alameda County Boundary Commission of the State of <br />California, with respect to the matters provided by law therefor; and <br />Whereas, said resolution specifically described the boundaries <br />of the territory so proposed to be annexed to this City; designated such <br />territory by an appropriate identification; contained a notice of the place, <br />hour, and day, not less than fifteen nor more than sixty days thereafter, <br />when and where any person owning real property within such territory so <br />proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed annexation <br />might appear before this Council and show cause why such territory should <br />not be so annexed; declared that such proceedings were initiated in re- <br />sponse to a written petition therefor signed by the sole owner of said <br />property, representing all of the assessed value thereof; and <br />Whereas, the City Clerk of this City duly caused a copy of said <br />resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a <br />week, in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City, to wit: <br />In THE MORNING NEWS on June 5 and 12, 1959, which aforesaid publication <br />was completed at least twenty days prior to the date set for the hearing; <br />and <br />Whereas, the City Clerk of this City also duly caused written <br />notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom <br />land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed on the last <br />
