August 14, 1963
J. Kerwin Rooney, Esq.
Port Attorney
Jack London Square
Oakland, California
Dear Kerwin:
The enclosed real property descriptions and
study maps were provided by the City Engineer oV San
Leandro. They include descriptions of Parcels numbered
1, 2e 3 and 5, which are the numbers used for these
parcels in my memorandum attached to my letter of August
60 1963, regarding the proposed annexation and de -annexa-
tion proceedings and the golf course development. In
conformity with my previous proposal it is requested that
the Port of Oakland and the City Engineer of the City of
Oakland review and approve these several descriptions so
that they may be used by agreement of all parties in
further proceedings.
The following comments are made with respect
to several of these descriptions:
1. As to Parcel 1 - this area the City of
Oakland will annex. The City of San Leandro will consent
to this annexation and will require requests from the
Port of Oakland and from the southern Pacific Railroad
for this purpose. It seems to me that the Port of Oakland
and the Southern Pacific Railroad can refer to their
respective interests in Parcel 1 without the necessity of
revising the description so as to separate it into two
parcels. The City of Oakland will then use this descrip-
tion of Parcel 1 for its annexation resolution. In this
connection the Port of Oakland and the Southern Pacific
Railroad as property owner should request the City of
Oakland to annex this property.
