Homer Hamlin <br />City Engineer <br />City Hall <br />San Leandro, California <br />Gentlemen: <br />OMICE <br />AU 19An <br />00 <br />August 6, 1963 <br />A copy of this letter and a copy of the attached <br />memorandum are going to the Port of Oakland, the City <br />Engineer of Oakland and the Superintendent of Recreation <br />of Oakland. In the interest of attaining our agreed upon <br />desired objectives it will be desirable for each of us to <br />expedite the various steps involved. <br />It has been agreed that we shall proceed forth- <br />with on the de -annexation and annexation of parcels desig- <br />nated as 1 and 2 in the accompanying memorandum, and that <br />the necessary agreement among Port of Oakland, the Scavenger <br />Company and San Leandro will be accomplished. If the <br />necessary preliminary steps are taken with regard to parcel <br />number 3 it also will be detached and annexed as part of the <br />general plan at this time. <br />It is our understanding that San Leandro has <br />descriptions covering parcels 1, 2, 3 and 5, and will <br />furnish them to us promptly. We propose then to have these <br />descriptions reviewed by the City Engineer of Oakland and <br />the Port of Oakland. These descriptions are necessary first <br />steps in the proceedings, as they must be used in obtaining <br />the consent of the owner of the particular parcel to be <br />detached from the City in which the property is now located <br />and the descriptions must also be used in the de -annexation <br />and annexation legislation including the review by the <br />Boundaries Commission. <br />
