<br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
<br />LEANDRO OF RESOLUTION NO.
<br />=1 C. M. S., DECLARING ITS IN-
<br />TENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL
<br />ELECTION AN,D SUBMIT TO THE
<br />ELECTORS RESIDING IN THE TER-
<br />RITORY PROPOSED TO BE AN-
<br />NEXED TO THE CITY OF SAN LE-
<br />ANDRO, THE QUESTION WHETHER
<br />SUCH TERRITORY SHALL BE AN-
<br />NEXED TO, INCORPORATED IN.
<br />AND MADE A PART OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN LEANDRO.
<br />By order of the Council of the City
<br />of San Leandro, directing the giving
<br />of this notice, notice is hereby given
<br />that the City Council of the City of
<br />San Leandro, being the legislative
<br />body of the said city, did at a regu-
<br />lar adjourned meeting thereof, held on
<br />Monday, the 12th day of June, 1939,
<br />pass its Resolution No. 221 C. M. S.,
<br />declaring its intention of said City
<br />Council of the City of San Leandro
<br />to call a Special Election in the man-
<br />ner provided by law, to be called for
<br />and held Thursday, the 3rd day of Au-
<br />gust, 1939, and submitted at said spe-
<br />cial election to electors residing in the
<br />territory described in said Resolution
<br />No. 221 C. M. S. and hereinafter in this
<br />notice particularly described, the ques-
<br />tion whether said territory herein-
<br />after particularly described, shall be
<br />annexed to, incorporated in and made
<br />a part of the City of San Leandro and
<br />the property therein be after such an-
<br />nexation subject to taxation equally
<br />with the property in said City of San
<br />Leandro; to pay those portions of the
<br />bonded indebtedness of said City of
<br />San Leandro, represented by municipal
<br />Improvement bonds voted, issued and
<br />now outstanding for the acquisition
<br />and construction or completion of the
<br />following described municipal Improve-
<br />ments of the City of San Leandro, to -
<br />wit:
<br />San Leandro City Hall, including ac-
<br />quisition, construction, and including
<br />acquisition of land, furniture, fixtures,
<br />apparatus and equipment necessary or
<br />convenient for said City Hall pur-
<br />poses, now outstanding in the princi-
<br />pal sum or amount of $60,000.00.
<br />Sewage and Garbage Disposal Plant,
<br />Including acquisition, construction and
<br />completion; including land, buildings,
<br />plant, pump, machinery, chemical
<br />equipment and other works, proper-
<br />ties, equipment and appliances neces-
<br />sary or convenient to make a coni-
<br />plete combined garbage and sewage
<br />disposal plant, now outstanding in the
<br />principal sum or amount of $125,000.00.
<br />Notice is hereby further given that
<br />said City Council of the City of San
<br />Leandro, intends to call and hold said
<br />Special Election on Thursday, the third
<br />day of August, 1939.
<br />Said Resolution No. 221, C. M. S. is
<br />now on file in the office of the City
<br />Clerk of the City of San Leandro and
<br />the same is hereby referred to for any
<br />and all purposes and particulars.
<br />The territory so proposed to be an-
<br />nexed to, incorporated in and made a
<br />part of the City of San Leandro is con-
<br />tiguous to the said City, and is situ-
<br />ated in Eden Township, County of Ala-
<br />meda, State of California; is not a
<br />part of or included within the corpor-
<br />ate boundaries of any other municipal-
<br />ity anal is unincorporated -territory of
<br />and in the said County of Alameda, and
<br />Is particularly described as being all
<br />that said territory included within and
<br />embraced within those certain bound-
<br />aries thereof, which are particularly
<br />described as follows, to -wit:
<br />All that certain piece or parcel of
<br />land situate, lying and being in Eden
<br />Township, County of Alameda, State
<br />of California and particularly described
<br />as follows:
<br />BEGINNING at the point of intersec-
<br />tion of the Southwestern line of Foot-
<br />hill Boulevard with the Northwestern
<br />line of Estudillo Avenue, as said
<br />Estudillo Avenue and Foothill Boule-
<br />vard existed prior to the widening by
<br />the State Highway Commission as
<br />same now exists, said point of begin-
<br />ning being the Southeast corner of
<br />Lot 8, Block "A" as said Lot and Block
<br />are so shown on that certain filed map
<br />entitled "Estudillo Estates, San Lean-
<br />dro, Alameda County, California", ctc.,
<br />filed May 29, 1926 in Book 11 of Maps
<br />at Pages 76 and 77 in the office of the
<br />County Recorder of Alameda County,
<br />California and running thence North-
<br />easterly across Foothill Boulevard, on
<br />a line of the Northwestern line of
<br />Estudillo Avenue produced Northeast-
<br />erly to the point of intersection of the
<br />Northeastern line of Foothill Boulevard
<br />with the said Northwestern line of

<br />Northwestern line of Sandelin Avenue,
<br />as said Avenue is also shown on said
<br />filed map of "TRACT 532"; thence
<br />Easterly along the said Northern line
<br />of Sandelin Avenue then following
<br />courses and distances shown on said
<br />filed map of "TRACT 532", etc., North
<br />67' 30' East 14.86 feet; thence South-
<br />easterly along said line of said Avenue
<br />along the are of a circle to the right,
<br />with a radius of 145 feet, a distance
<br />of 93.64 feet and tangent to the last
<br />mentioned course; thence South 75° 30'
<br />East 8.03 feet and tangent to the last
<br />mentioned course; thence South 75' 30'
<br />East 8.03 feet and tangent to the last
<br />mentioned course; thence Northeasterly
<br />along the are of a circle to the left,
<br />tangent to the last mentioned course,
<br />with a radius of 22.73 feet, an are
<br />distance of 19.73 feet to the most east-
<br />ern corner of Lot 9, Block 2 of said

<br />common boundary line of said "TRACT

<br />feet; thence continuing along said
<br />Southern boundary line of said TRACT
<br />532, along the are of a compound circle
<br />to the right, with a radius of 2292.01
<br />feet, tangent to the last mentioned
<br />course, an are distance of 471.61 feet
<br />to the Southwestern corner of said
<br />TRACT 532, said corner being on the
<br />Northeastern line of Foothill Boule-
<br />-vard, as same now exists after widen-
<br />ing by the State Highway Commission;
<br />thence Westerly to the point of inter-
<br />section of the Western line of Foothill
<br />Boulevard, as same existed prior to the
<br />widening, with the Southeastern_ line
<br />of Joaquin Avenue, said point of -Inter-
<br />section being the Northeastern corner
<br />of Lot 9, Block 67, as said Lot, Block,
<br />Boulevard and Avenue are shown on
<br />that certain filed map entitled "Estu-
<br />dillo Tract", etc., filed January 10, 1876,
<br />in Book 5 of Maps, at Page 32, Alameda
<br />County Records, said point being also
<br />on the Eastern Boundary line of the
<br />City of San Leandro, as same now
<br />exists; thence Northerly along said
<br />Eastern boundary line of San Leandro,
<br />said line being also the Western line
<br />of Foothill Boulevard, as same existed
<br />prior to widening; along the are of a
<br />circle to the left, with a radius of
<br />420.00 feet to the Northeastern corner
<br />of Lot 14, Block 66 of said "Estudillo
<br />Tract"; thence Northwesterly and
<br />crossing Estudillo Avenue, tangent to
<br />the last mentioned course 66.00 feet to
<br />the point of beginning.
<br />BEING a portion of Foothill Boule-
<br />vard, as the same formerly existed
<br />prior to widening, a portion of Foot-
<br />hill Boulevard, after widening and as
<br />same now exists, a portion of Estudillo
<br />Avenue, a portion of Sandelin Avenue
<br />and all of the Lots, Blocks and Streets
<br />as same are delineated and so desig-
<br />nated upon that certain filed map en-
<br />titled "TRACT 532, Alameda County,
<br />California", etc., filed June 20, 1938 in
<br />Book 29 of Maps at Pages 12 and 13,
