RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the City Council did on April 20, 1953, refer to the (Res.#2087) <br />Planning Commission the matter of reporting on the construction of buildings <br />and public improvements in the area known as Leland Heights, and to make <br />recommendations concerning the annexation of that area, and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has consulted the advice of the <br />Department of Public Works of the City of San Leandro, whose reports are <br />herewith attached, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, The Planning Commission, having considered the afore- <br />mentioned reports and, in addition, the REPORT TO CITIZENS' ADVISORY C0MITTEE <br />BY SUBCOM1ITTEE ON LAND USE AND ANNEXATION (June 23, 1952), has formed the <br />following opinions: <br />1. That the City of San Leandro can offer to the property owners <br />and residents of Leland Heights the means to obtain increased <br />public services and improvements; <br />2. That the futures of these contiguous areas are so closely inter- <br />woven that they should be joined municipally so as to be of <br />mutual aid. <br />AND NOW, THEEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED that this Planning Commission con - <br />elude and i_t hereby does conclude that the annexation of Leland Heights to <br />the City of San Leandro woul,' be advantageous to both communities; and be it <br />further <br />RESOLVED, that this Planning Commission recommend and it hereby dnfs <br />recommend to the City Council that Leland Heights be annexed to the City of <br />San Leandro. <br />Introduced by Commissioner Kerr, seconded by Commissioner Andersen, and passed <br />this 8th day of June. 1953, by the following called vote: <br />AYES: COWAISSIONERS: Andersen, Gilmour, Kerr, Mutinsky, Souza, Mauvais (6) <br />NOES: COMMISSIONERS: None <br />ABSENT: COMMISSIONER: Williams <br />(0) <br />
