Box 24055 <br />Oakland, CA 94623 <br />Letter Agreement for Pipe Abandonment <br />Barrow Street.between Vul:cn Street and Doolittle Dri^e <br />This letter will serve as an agreement between the City of San Leandro and East Bay Municipal Utility District (District) for <br />the abandonment of the 6" water main (6" CICL E -29270-B, 6" CICL E 29417, 6" AC38458) shown on the improvement <br />plans prepared by EBMUD for the installation of an 8" PVC pipe on Barrow Street between Yukon Street and Doolittle <br />Drive dated January 9, 2002. The District is proposing to abandon said pipes by capping and leaving them in place. <br />However, the City of San Leandro's policy is to remove any unused pipeline within the City's right-of-way so they will not <br />obstruct future utility projects. The City will allow the subject project to proceed and abandon the pipelines as proposed if <br />the District agrees to the following conditions: _ <br />In the event that the abandoned pipes and appurtenances conflict with a future city street or utility improvement <br />project, and an alternative alignment for the proposed storm drain pipe or other street improvement facility is not <br />feasible front an engineering or economical standpoint, then the District shall reimburse the City for the extra <br />installation costs incurred with the removal of the abandoned facilities. <br />The District shall maintain a record of the abandoned pipes and appurtenances for future reference. <br />Sincere y <br />en Jos ph .E., City Engineer <br />Engineering and Transportation Department <br />I hereby acknowledge receipt of this letter and agree to the interpretation of the conditions set forth herein for abandonment <br />of water lines in-place as noted above. <br />Christopher Dodge <br />East Bay Municipal Utility District <br />Pauline Russo Cutter Michael J.
