f <br />AGREEMENT <br />Agreement entered into this 18th day of August, 1969, between the <br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, hereinafter called City, and the SAN LEANDRO UNIFIED <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT, hereinafter called District. <br />City and District are empowered by Chapter 6 of Division 12 of the <br />California Education Code to acquire, construct, improve, maintain and operate <br />recreation centers, and to co-operate with each other, to enter into agree- <br />ments with each other and jointly to act to that end. <br />Construction, improvement, maintenance and operation of turfed play - <br />fields upon the site of Grover Cleveland and McKinley Elementary Schools, <br />as designated upon those certain maps designated "Exhibit A" and "Exhibit B," <br />respectively, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, which <br />are owned by District, would serve to promote and preserve the health and <br />general welfare of the people of City and District and to cultivate the develop- <br />ment of good citizenship by improving the adequacy of programs of community <br />recreation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, City and District agree as follows: <br />District shall prepare the plans and specifications for the work, which <br />shall be limited to filling and grading, installation of automatic irrigation <br />facilities, water lines.and meters in, and turfing said playfields, subject <br />to approval by City. <br />District shall obtain City's prior approval of the award of contract for <br />said work. <br />District shall pay the entire cost of said work. <br />City shall pay District, upon demand, one-half the actual cost of said <br />work, the cost to City being estimated at Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000). <br />Is Said playfields shall be available for community recreational purposes <br />under direct control of City whenever the use of said playfields for said <br />purposes will not interfere with the use of said playfields for any other <br />purpose of District.
