23 <br />SLPOA MOU January 1, 2023 – June 30, 2028 <br />Section 30. Miscellaneous <br /> <br />30.1 Tuition Reimbursement. The Tuition Reimbursement Program is incorporated here by <br />reference. The maximum tuition reimbursement benefit under the program is one <br />thousand ($1,000.00) dollars per employee. The reimbursement is limited to class <br />registration, parking-related costs and course materials. <br /> <br />30.2 Health and Fitness Reimbursement. Employees may seek reimbursement of health and <br />fitness expenses up to $500 per year. The reimbursement may be used for expenses such <br />as health club/gym memberships, fitness classes (such as yoga, Pilates, aerobics), <br />exercise equipment (such as weights, treadmill, bicycle) and weight loss programs. <br />Expenses that would not qualify include recreational sports equipment, sports <br />team/competition fees, clothing, and vitamins/supplements. Expenses reimbursed under <br />this program are subject to the approval of Human Resources and the City Manager. <br />Employees hired after July 1 will be eligible for a prorated amount. <br /> <br />30.3 Pay Procedures - Time Change. The parties agree that following will be applied to any <br />full-time employee working the "midnight" shift at the time clocks change from/to Pacific <br />Standard Time (PST) and Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). <br /> <br />A. In the spring, when transitioning from PST to PDT, employees working on a shift <br />which includes the one-hour transition from Standard to Daylight Saving time will <br />be paid only for time actually worked. Such employees may be granted the option <br />by the Police Chief to work an additional hour of straight time (to avoid being <br />docked), or use accrued ''time,'' compensatory time or vacation to make up the <br />lost work hour. <br /> <br />B. In the fall, when transitioning from PDT to PST, employees working during the <br />one-hour transition will be paid for all hours worked, including one hour of overtime <br />at the overtime rate for the extra hour worked in excess of their regularly-scheduled <br />shift, as a result of the time change. <br /> <br />30.4 Life Insurance. The City shall maintain in effect employer provided Term Life Insurance <br />with AD&D in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for active full-time <br />employees. The insurance provider shall be “A-rated”, unless the parties specify <br />otherwise. <br /> <br />30.5 Deferred Compensation. Effective January 1, 2023, the City will match an employee’s <br />contribution to the City’s Section 457 Deferred Compensation plan each pay period up to <br />a maximum of two percent (2%) of employee’s base pay. <br /> <br />In addition, the City will directly contribute to each employee’s deferred compensation <br />account an amount equal to the City’s contribution formula to Long Term Disability (LTD) <br />insurance for other employee groups (currently $0.142 per $100 of covered payroll). In <br />order to receive the City contributions, an employee must be enrolled in the City’s deferred <br />compensation plan. <br /> <br />30.6 Retiree Medical Trust. Employees covered by this MOU shall participate in a retiree <br />medical expense reimbursement plan administered by PORAC Retiree Medical Trust. The <br />plan is designed to permit employees to set aside money to be used to pay for health <br />insurance expenses in retirement, pursuant to the rules of the plan. The Trust must meet <br />Internal Revenue Code requirements that allow contributions to be made on a pre-tax
