City of San Leandro <br />City Council <br />Meeting Date: December 19, 2022 <br />Agenda Number: 3.d. <br />Agenda Section: RECOGNITIONS <br />File Number: 22-716 <br />File Type: Presentation <br />Proclamation to Honor Kim Pace and her Service to the Youth and the Community <br />Proclamation to Honor Kim Pace and her Service to the Youth and the Community <br />WHEREAS, Kimberly (Kim) Pace began her career in youth development at the YMCA in 2004. Kim studied <br />abroad and attended the University of East Anglia in England and received her BA from San Francisco State University; and <br />WHEREAS, Kim began working at the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro in 2016 and played a pivotal role in the <br />transition of the existing building into an innovative 21st Century model; and <br />WHEREAS, Kim was President of the San Leandro Rotary Club in 2017 and also serves as a member of the San <br />Leandro Improvement Association and serves as a member of the California Alliance Government Relations Committee for <br />Boys & Girls Clubs of America; and <br />WHEREAS, Kim became the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro in 2021. She and <br />her team have lead the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro from a club serving 1,200 youth per day at 11 sites to a club <br />that will serve over 3,500 youth a day and 22 sites; and <br />WHEREAS, Kim also led the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro in opening a dedicated teen center and <br />community hub which will serve an additional 2,000+ teens annually. She leads quality training and growth opportunities for <br />the 111 staff members with plans to double this number; and <br />WHEREAS, Kim has remained committed to engaging with and mentoring anyone seeking to enrich their personal <br />leadership skills and abilities and was featured in the Women’s Leaders Magazine, September 2022 issue as one of the 20 <br />most Inspiring Women Leaders of 2022. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pauline Russo Cutter, Mayor of the City of San Leandro, do hereby proclaim that Kim <br />Pace for her accomplishments and service to the San Leandro Community. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and <br />caused the Seal of the City of San Leandro to be affixed this 19th <br />day of December 2022. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 12/14/2022
