IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO.2022-201 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO <br />APPROVE THE SAN LEANDRO CROSSTOWN CORRIDORS STUDY <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has indicated that streets are a critical component of <br />the City's infrastructure and their condition is an important factor in the quality of life for the <br />residents and the vitality of local businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was awarded a Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff worked with a traffic engineering consultant, Fehr & Peers, <br />who conducted multiple efforts of community engagement and outreach; and <br />WHEREAS, the plan was developed with a stakeholder group that included <br />representatives from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and Engineering & <br />Transportation Departments as well as regional transit partners and bike and environmental <br />advocacy groups; and <br />WHEREAS, the project team developed the City's Vision Zero Policy for traffic <br />safety impacts for the health and comfort of all those who live and travel in the City of San <br />Leandro and the implementation of this plan is a step towards making the transportation <br />system safer and more equitable for users of all transportation modes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Crosstown Corridors Study will serve as a framework for the City <br />to identify, analyze, and prioritize safety improvements on local streets and will render the <br />City eligible for future fiends; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 2, 2022, City staff and consultants presented the <br />Crosstown Class IV Corridors Study to the City Council Facilities and Transportation <br />Committee and received the Committee's feedback. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE that: <br />The above recitals are true and correct and have served as the basis for the findings <br />and approvals set forth in this Resolution; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby approves the <br />Crosstown Corridors Study and authorizes the City Manager, or her designee, to implement <br />the plan. <br />
