Consulting Services Agreement between City of San Leandro and Last revised 2023
Cal Engineering and Geology for Lake Chabot Rd Upslope Storm Repair Exhibit A – Page 1 of 3
EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The winter storms of December & January 2022-23 caused erosion damage to a section of the Lake
Chabot Road upslope embankment. At this location, the embankment is below two single family dwelling
units, 1700 and 1728 Astor Terrace. The embankment was previously bolstered in 1998 providing
protection and support to the two above homes. This project includes geotechnical analysis, repair design,
and preparation of construction documents for the restoration of the erosion damaged embankment. It is
anticipated the restoration will include a retaining wall at the base of the slope, rock slope protection and
upper slope anchoring extending onto private property.
Task 1 Project Management
Project management shall include allocation of staff resources, monitoring of budget and
schedule to maintain the project on track and quality control of deliverables.
Task 1 Deliverables
•Status Updates
•Project Schedule
Task 2 Coordination and Meetings
Consultant shall coordinate with the City throughout the project and communicate via email,
telephone and virtual conferencing. Correspondences will be followed with meeting minutes and
action items. City staff shall coordinate access to the two upper private properties as necessary.
with the City. Through a kickoff meeting the proposed scheduled and milestones will be
reviewed.
Task 2 Deliverables
•Meeting Minutes
Task 3 Geotechnical Design
Consultant shall review existing available data from Consultant’s files, City’s files and other
published data. Geotechnical analysis will be performed to determine stability and bearing
properties of the embankment. The analysis will provide insight of the current slope condition
and potential impacts to the existing structures. The results from the data review and
engineering analysis will be used to develop a draft geotechnical memorandum. This document
will include:
o Site location, description and purpose of the scope
o Site plan topography, key site features and geologic mapping
o A summary of site geology and subsurface conditions
o Subsurface exploration and lab testing, completed previously by others
o Slope stability analysis, of existing conditions and proposed repair scheme
o A summary of the repair concept
DocuSign Envelope ID: 34E270C9-AF0A-4808-80F9-847E979247FC
