IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2023- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH WRT DESIGN TO CONDUCT A COMPREHENSIVE PARKS ASSESSMENT AND CREATE A PARKS MASTER PLAN TOTALING $89,230 IN FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023; AND $290,382 IN FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED VALUE OF $379,61. WHEREAS, in 1998, the City of San Leandro and the school districts in the City undertook a Parks Needs Assessment prepared by the Community Services Department, to create a long-range plan to guide the development, operation, and maintenance of the City’s Park and Open Space system; and WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro and school districts (San Leandro Unified School District and San Lorenzo Unified School District) want to better understand the current usage of the City’s existing parks and recreational assets, the needs and requests of the San Leandro community, the appropriate allocation of funding needed to maintain existing assets, apt implementation of proposed park improvements, and expand utilization for recreational purposes system wide; and WHEREAS, a City Council goal is to maintain and enhance San Leandro's infrastructure, and maintain and support a strong positive relationship between the City, schools, and the educational community; and WHEREAS, this project advances three Council priorities: Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget has sufficient funding to cover the initial phase of the study; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That said agreement for a not-to-exceed amount of $379,612 is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized.
