DRAFTJanuary 3, 2023City Council Minutes ACTION ITEMS13. 13.a.22-737 Motion to Designate a Vice Mayor to Serve for a Period of One Year Pursuant to City Charter Section 310 A motion was made by Mayor Gonzalez III, seconded by Councilmember Aguilar, Jr., to appoint Councilmember Azevedo as Vice Mayor. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye:Aguilar Jr., Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, Gonzalez III, Reynes, Bowen7 - 13.b.22-740 Motion to Appoint City Councilmembers to Serve on the Following Intergovernmental Agencies Until Replaced A motion was made by Councilmember Azevedo, seconded by Councilmember Aguilar, Jr., that this Minute Order be Approved. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye:Aguilar Jr., Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, Gonzalez III, Reynes, Bowen7 - COUNCIL REQUESTS TO SCHEDULE AGENDA ITEMS14. Mayor Gonzalez made a motion, with a second by Councilmember Aguilar to postpone the City Clerk item to the February 16, 2023 City Council meeting, the motion passed with a 7-0 vote. Councilmember Reynes made a motion, with a second by Councilmember Aguilar to amend the eviction moratorium and bring it back at the next meeting, the motion passed with a 7-0 vote. Councilmember Simon added an item to the next Priority Workshop, to modify District Council Elections and eliminate rank choice voting and add a Cost of Living Adjustment for the Council. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS15. City Councilmembers reported on attendance at intergovernmental agency meetings, conferences, and seminars since the last meeting. ADJOURN16. The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 p.m., in memory of Isaiah Cordero, the Riverside County Deputy killed in the line of duty while making a traffic stop.
