IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2023- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE GRANT FUNDS AWARDED BY THE CALIFORNIA BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS OFFICER WELLNESS AND MENTAL HEALTH GRANT PROGRAM TO FUND THE SAN LEANDRO POLICE DEPARTMENT'S EFFORTS TO IMPROVE OFFICER WELLNESS AND EXPANDING MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,847.87 WHEREAS, the Board of State & Community Corrections (BSCC) is an independent statutory agency that provides leadership to the adult and juvenile criminal justice systems, expertise on Public Safety Realignment issues, a data and information clearinghouse, and technical assistance on a wide range of community corrections issues; and WHEREAS, BSCC has funding of $50 million over two fiscal years that is available to all city and county law enforcement agencies employing officers described in Section 830.1 of the Penal Code; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police department was awarded an Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant of $49,847.87 for the purpose of improving officer wellness and expanding mental health resources. NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That the City Council accepts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related to the BSCC Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant program award for the purpose of improving officer wellness and expanding mental health resources totaling $49,847.87; and 2. That an appropriation of the BSCC Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant program funding of $49,847.87 in revenue account # 150-3607 and expenditure account # 150-21-060 is approved.
