Description - A remotely controlled track driven tactical robot that operates on the ground. <br />It enhances the capabilities of officers by allowing them to quickly and safely inspect <br />dangerous situations, prior to sending in officers. <br />b. Capabilities: Remote controlled vehicle that provides live images from a ground position. <br />c. Quantity: 1 <br />d. Expected Life Span: 10 years <br />e. Purpose: To be used to remotely gain visual/audio data and assist in clearing buildings. <br />f. Authorized Use: Assigned Tactical Operation Team Members at the direction of the Tactical <br />Operations Commander. <br />g. Fiscal Impact: <br />i. Original Purchase Price: $12,589.50 (2011) <br />ii. Ongoing Yearly Maintenance: None, unless unexpected damage occurs <br />h. Training: Tactical Operation Team members through orientation of the equipment. <br />i. Legal and Procedural Rules: The Tactical Robot will be utilized for official law enforcement <br />purposes, and in a manner that respects the privacy of our community, pursuant to State <br />and Federal law. Description: Small unmanned remote controlled aerial aircraft that weighs approximately <br />900 grams. <br />b. Capabilities: Remote piloted aerial aircrafts that provide live and recorded video images <br />from aerial positions. <br />c. Quantity: 6 <br />d. Expected Life Span: 3 – 5 years <br />e. Purpose: To be deployed when its view would assist officers or incident commanders in <br />situations outlined in SLPD Policy 610. <br />f. Authorized Use: In accordance with SLPD Policy 610 <br />g. Fiscal Impact: <br />i. Original Purchase Price: $5,700 each <br />ii. Ongoing Yearly Maintenance: $200/per device plus unexpected damage or <br />maintenance issues. <br />h. Training: Prior to piloting any unmanned aerial aircraft, pilots must obtain an FAA Remote <br />Pilot License and complete all training required by the FAA. <br />i. Legal and Procedural Rules: Any use of the unmanned aerial aircraft will be in strict <br />accordance with constitutional and privacy rights, FAA regulations, and SLPD Policy 610.
