Remington 870 Less Lethal Shotgun <br />a. Description: Remington 870 Less Lethal Shotgun modified for use of less lethal munitions. <br />b. Capabilities: Ability to deploy the less lethal 12-gauge Super-Sock Beanbag Round up to 75 <br />feet. <br />c. Quantity: 35 <br />d. Expected Life Span: 25 years <br />e. Purpose: In accordance with SLPD Policies 300, and 303 and 431, their use will limit the <br />escalation of conflict where employment of lethal force is prohibited or undesirable. <br />f. Authorized Use: Only members who have been trained in the use of less lethal shotguns are <br />authorized to utilize them in accordance with SLPD Policies 300, and 303, and 431. <br />g. Fiscal Impact: <br />i. Purchase Price: $880 <br />ii. Ongoing Yearly Maintenance: $50/shotgun <br />h. Training: All officers are trained in the 12 gauge less lethal shotgun as a less lethal option by <br />in-service training. SWAT personnel receive additional training internally when they transfer <br />to the unit. <br />i. Legal and Procedural Rules: Use is established under SLPD Lexipol 300, and 303, and 431. It <br />is the policy of the SLPD to utilize the less lethal shotgun only for official law enforcement <br />purposes, and pursuant to State and Federal law, including those regarding the use of force. <br /> <br />26.25. 40mm LMT Tactical Single Launcher <br />a. Description - The 40LMTS is a tactical single shot launcher that features an expandable <br />ROGERS Super Stoc and an adjustable Integrated Front Grip (IFG) with light rail. The <br />ambidextrous Lateral Sling Mount (LSM) and QD mounting systems allow both a single and <br />two point sling attachment. The 40LMTS will fire standard 40mm less lethal ammunition, up <br />to 4.8 inches in cartridge length. <br />b. Capabilities: The 40LMTS will fire standard 40mm less lethal ammunition, up to 4.8 inches in <br />cartridge length. <br />c. Quantity: 3 <br />d. Expected Life Span: 15 years <br />e. Purpose: To be utilized in accordance with SLPD Policies 300, and 303, and 431. <br />f. Authorized Use: Only trained members are authorized to utilize launcher in accordance with <br />SLPD Policy 300, and 303, and 431. <br />g. Fiscal Impact: <br />i. Purchase Price: $2,230 (2018) <br />ii. Ongoing Maintenance: None, unless the item becomes damaged. <br />h. Training: Approved crowd control training and/or chemical agent training and in accordance <br />with SLPD Policy 306300, 303, and 431. <br />i. Legal and Procedural Rules: Use is established under SLPD Policies 300, and 303 and 431. <br />Utilization of chemical agents and or impact weapons is only for official law enforcement <br />purposes, and pursuant to State and Federal law, including those regarding the use of force.
