IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2023- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH READY TO LAUNCH RESEARCH FOR QUALITATIVE FOCUS GROUP RESEARCH AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LIBRARY STRATEGIC PLAN THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024 FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $149,970.00 WHEREAS, the needs and demographics of the community and the capabilities of libraries have changed over time; and WHEREAS, developing a better understanding of what the community’s needs are so the library can more effectively serve the community is the primary goal; and WHEREAS, qualitative, focus group research with the community is needed to understand the community’s needs; and WHEREAS, a strategic plan can be developed to guide the library over the next 2-5 years in best serving the community; and WHEREAS, Ready To Launch Research can provide the services required to conduct focus groups with the community, staff, and key stakeholders as well as synthesize the findings into a strategic planning document; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into a relationship with Ready To Launch Research to provide the strategic planning services through June 30, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $149,970.00; and WHEREAS, a corresponding appropriation for this proposed agreement is already incorporated into the proposed Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget; and WHEREAS, Ready To Launch Research has agreed to the terms of the contract pending Council approval; and WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
