February 21, 2023City Council Minutes <br />Aye:Aguilar Jr., Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, González III, Reynes, Bowen7 - <br />Enactment No: 2023-017 <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Simon to extend the meeting until 10:30 pm, <br />with a second from Councilmember Aguilar. The motion passed 5-2 with <br />Councilmembers Ballew and Gonzalez voting no. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS12. <br />There were no items scheduled. <br />ACTION ITEMS13. <br />13.a.23-040 Adopt a Resolution of Intention and Introduce for First Reading an <br />Ordinance to Approve an Amendment to the Contract between the Board <br />of Administration of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System <br />(CalPERS) and the City of San Leandro to Include Provisions Pursuant <br />to Government Code Section 20516 “Cost Sharing” for Local Police <br />Management Members in Accordance with the San Leandro Police <br />Management Association (SLPMA) Memorandum of Understanding <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Aguilar, Jr., seconded by <br />Councilmember Ballew, that this Staff Report be Approved. The motion <br />CARRIED by the following vote: <br />Aye:Aguilar Jr., Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, González III, Reynes, Bowen7 - <br />Councilmember Ballew made a motion to adjourn after item 13.a the motion failed for a <br />lack of second. <br />13.b.23-057 Second Reading of an Ordinance to Extend the City’s Residential <br />Eviction Moratorium to February 28, 2024 <br />Councilmember Reynes made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11 pm, with a <br />second by Councilmember Aguilar, the motion passed 5-2 with Councilmembers <br />Ballew and Gonzalez voting no. <br />Comments were made by the following individuals: Ralph Ortiz, Marc Janowitz, Craig <br />Williams, Jim Prola and Leo West <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Aguilar, Jr., seconded by <br />Councilmember Bowen, that this Staff Report be Approved.
