March 1, 2021City Council Minutes <br />ACTION ITEMS10. <br />10.A.21-101 City of San Leandro City Council Ordinance to Require Large Grocery <br />Stores in San Leandro to Pay Employees an Additional Five Dollars per <br />Hour in Temporary Hazard Pay During a Specified Period of Time <br />Associated with the Covid-19 Pandemic <br />There were approximately 5 public speakers. <br />Comments were made by the following individuals: <br />Emily Griego, Douglas Spalding, Lawrence Abbott, Leo T. West and Jim Prola <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Azevedo, seconded by Councilmember <br />Cox, that this Ordinance be Adopted. The motion carried by the following vote. <br />Aye:Aguilar, Azevedo, Cox, Lopez, Simon5 - <br />Nay:Ballew1 - <br />Recused:Cutter1 - <br />Enactment No: Ordinance 2021-002 <br />REPORT ON CLOSED SESSION ACTIONS TAKEN11. <br />City Attorney Richard Pio Roda reported there was no reportable action taken however <br />direction was provided to staff. <br />CITY COUNCIL REPORTS12. <br />City Councilmembers reported on attendance at intergovernmental agency meetings, <br />conferences, and seminars since the last meeting. <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR AND ANNOUNCEMENTS13. <br />City Councilmembers announced calendar of upcoming events and coordinated <br />attendance; reported on local events attended since the last meeting; and made brief <br />comments on issues of concern. <br />COUNCIL REQUESTS TO SCHEDULE AGENDA ITEMS14. <br />-A motion was made by Councilmember Azevedo, seconded by Councilmember Lopez <br />to schedule a discussion on an Emergency Broad Band Benefit Program for discount <br />on computing devices and internet services. <br />Roll call was taken as follows: <br />Aye: Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Cox, Lopez, Simon, Mayor Cutter <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />-A motion was made by Councilmember Azevedo, seconded by Mayor Cuttter to work <br />with federal lobbyist Simon & Co. and schedule a discussion on Earmarks in House <br />and Senate for CIPs. <br />Page 6City of San Leandro
