1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Monday, March 26, 2018 <br />State of the City Address <br />Strengthening the Fabric of <br />Our Community <br />Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter <br />Introduction <br />Hello! On behalf of the City of San Leandro, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2018 State <br />of the City. <br />It’s hard to believe that I am now in my fourth year as Mayor of this wonderful community, and <br />coming up on 20 years as an elected leader in San Leandro. Looking back over that period of time, <br />I’m so proud at how much progress has been made in our community and how we work together- <br />It is truly an honor to serve as your Mayor. <br />When I was first elected to the City Council in 2010, the Great Recession was in full swing, and <br />the future was uncertain. The Council and City staff responded with careful planning and <br />investment, and together we successfully navigated those uncertain times. <br />San Leandro is stronger today than it has ever been. Our economy is thriving, we continue to <br />attract new businesses and jobs, and the City is financially secure. But along with most cities in <br />California, we are faced with dramatically increasing retirement costs. While you’ll hear more
