<br />Consulting Services Agreement between City of San Leandro and Last revised 6/16/2023 <br /> FVLC for CAP Grant: Family Violence & Homelessness Prevention Exhibit A – Page 1 of 1 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> <br />The Family Violence & Homelessness Prevention Project aims to reduce injury and homelessness caused <br />by family violence for San Leandro residents. The project provides free family and housing law services, <br />crisis intervention, and advocacy. The services hav e a significant impact on clients, including increased <br />safety through legal protection, reduction in threats to physical and emotional health, meaningful access to <br />the justice system, decreased likelihood of family disintegration, and connection to communi ty services for <br />other critical needs. The ultimate goal is to help clients establish independent lives away from abusive <br />partners and strengthen their families. <br /> <br />The specific services provided by FVLC to San Leandro residents fleeing family violence inclu de: <br />1. Free legal assistance, such as helping with restraining orders, child custody/support orders, and "kick - <br />out" orders to remove the batterer from the home. Clients receive legal advice, information, paperwork <br />preparation assistance, and representation in court hearings related to restraining orders. <br /> <br />The project objectives and timeline are as follows: <br />1. Direct legal assistance to at least 48 San Leandro families experiencing domestic violence, with a <br />minimum of 15 victims obtaining court orders. <br />2. Housing services, including kick -out orders, relocation funds assistance, and emergency housing for at <br />least 10 San Leandro residents experiencing domestic violence. <br />3. In-kind crisis counseling, safety planning, assistance with Victims of Crime applicatio ns, and referrals for <br />at least 20 San Leandro victims of domestic violence. <br /> <br />Client data will be recorded in a central database, capturing demographic information, police and legal <br />history, services utilized, and other relevant details. The Managing Attor ney of FVLC will review legal <br />service intakes to ensure clients receive the necessary assistance for successful court outcomes. <br />Additionally, a random sample of closed cases will be reviewed quarterly to address any identified issues <br />and ensure prompt and effective service provision. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 7641407B-50E6-483B-A9CD-588F07A5B32B
