c) Post areas using City approved signage 72 hours before spraying and leaving in place 72 <br />hours afterwards to warn park users. No weed abatement is anticipated at school sites, <br />however, if that changes, required postings and application hours will apply. <br />d) Store herbicides in OSHA approved containers. <br />e) Wear appropriate protective clothing while applying <br />f) Use non-selective herbicides to kill grass and weeds that are growing in cracks, around <br />posts, along fence lines, along curb and gutters, or in other identified areas where no <br />vegetation is desired <br />g) Use pre-emergent herbicides to control the germination and spread of broadleaf weeds in <br />plant beds and turf areas <br />h) Use post-emergent herbicides to control emergent broadleaf weeds that are currently in <br />plant beds or turf areas <br /> <br />605 Weed Abatement Application <br /> <br />a) Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating all weed abatement activity with City <br />designee. City parks are heavily used for scheduled and passive recreation use so <br />scheduling weed abatement in turf areas is very important. An annual/anticipated <br />calendar of weed abatement activities shall be submitted by the Contractor and approved <br />by the City. <br />b) Contractor shall establish a uniform time schedule for performance of routine work. <br />c) In addition to the annual weed abatement calendar and schedule, contractor shall also <br />provide 24-hour notification to the City. <br />d) In the event of complaints by a park user, the Contractor shall contact the Parks <br />Supervisor. <br />Attachment B
