<br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between [November 15, 2023] <br />City of San Leandro and Unity Courier Services Inc.—Exhibit A Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Unity observes the following federal holidays: <br /> <br />New Years Day Martin Luther King Day Presidents Day <br />Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day <br />Columbus Day Veterans Day Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day <br /> <br /> <br />San Leandro Public Library observes the following holidays: <br /> <br />New Years Day Martin Luther King Jr Day Lincoln’s Birthday <br />Presidents Day Cesar Chavez Day Memorial Day <br />Juneteenth Independence Day Labor Day <br />Veterans Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve aft 12PM Christmas Day New Years Eve aft 12PM <br /> <br />III. Loss and Damage Coverage <br /> <br />The liability of Unity to Library for negligent loss or damage to its property of any shipment or part of a <br />shipment shall be limited to the cost of restoration or repair and/or the face value of items that cannot be <br />restored or repaired provided however, that the maximum liability of Unity shall not exceed the sum of <br />$100.00 per book or $500.00 per shipment. <br /> <br />Library agrees to: <br />1. Ensure that every package tendered for transport is properly packaged and the destination clearly <br />marked. <br /> <br />2. Adhere to the following packing and shipping guidelines: <br /> <br />a. Books from General Collections will be shipped in bins or pouches as appropriate for the size of <br />the shipment. <br /> <br />b. Books in bins will be packed with appropriate padding to prevent them from shifting within the bin. <br /> <br />c. Books in pouches may be packed in envelopes/jiffy bags for additional protection. <br /> <br />d. Articles may be placed in hard covered folders (such as color-life expanding wallets with grippers) <br />and shipped in pouches. <br /> <br />e. Pouches may be shipped in bins for greater protection. <br /> <br />f. Microfilms and maps will be individually wrapped before shipping in bins. Microfilms will not be <br />shipped in pouches. <br /> <br />g.
