IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />I�Y�11l�)IiI�LI►L�)���>r�J��:i�? <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE, ACCEPT, AND AUTHORIZE <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PLAN <br />(HMGP) AWARD OF $142,500 AND TO APPROPRIATE THE CITY'S SHARE OF $15,000 TO EXECUTE THE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is administered by the California Governor's Office of <br />Emergency Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program will be used to develop and adopt a Local Hazard <br />Mitigation Plan pursuant to the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 to meet the requirements outlined in 44 CFR <br />Part 201 and the most current FEMA hazard mitigation plan guidance; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 25, 2023, the City Manager's Office submitted a request for grant funding through <br />the state's online portal to develop a comprehensive plan to form the foundation of a long-term strategy to <br />reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction, and repetitive damage; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office was awarded $142,500 for the project proposed less $15,000 for <br />the non-federal share of grant management. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That the City Council accepts the grant funds and authorizes the City Manager to execute all <br />documents related to the grant award of $142,500; and <br />That an appropriation of $142,500 from the Grant (F150-3607) fund to account No.010-12-030-5120 is <br />approved and will be refunded when the project is complete; and <br />That the balance of $15,000 shall be reserved by the City for a required 10% match. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 20t" day of November 2023, by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Reynes, Simon, and Mayor Gonzalez (6) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Bowen (1) <br />ATTEST: <br />Kelly B.
