Aircraft Fueling Facts <br />•Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a lead-free <br />fuel that reduces particulate emissions by up <br />to 50%. <br />•Jet A which is another lead-free fuel used for <br />turbine engines, such as jets and turboprops. <br />•100 Octane Low-Lead Aviation Fuel “AvGas” <br />contains half as much lead than the previous <br />fuel, 80 Octane (2 ml/GL), which has been <br />phased out. <br />Leaded AvGas <br />0.65% of fuel dispensed to OAK’s GA Community <br />Non-Leaded SAF or Jet A <br />99% of fuel dispensed to OAK’s GA Community <br />Cargo & Commercial Aircraft do no not <br />use leaded fuel <br />Types of fuels dispensed to General Aviation <br />(GA)Aircraft at OAK’s North Field <br />AvGas has been on a steady decline for two <br />decades at OAK <br />Fueling Facts @ OAK <br />In October, the FAA and EPA announced they <br />would draft new regulations to address lead <br />emissions by creating new fuel standards to <br />reduce or eliminate lead emissions <br />In 2022 the FAA announced the EAGLE Initiative to <br />safely eliminate the use of leaded aviation fuel by <br />the end of 2030.
