San <br />Leandro's businesses are responsible for over 60% of the city’s total revenues. Collaboration between city <br />staff, and partners, such as the Chamber of Commerce, to support and uplift our local businesses and invite <br />newcomers, is more important than ever. The Chamber of Commerce initiatives focus on being the <br />convener, catalyst, and champion for the business community. <br />_________________________________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Workforce Development - $13,750 <br /> <br />$10,000: Job Fair x two – The job fair champions local people getting local jobs within multiple industries in <br />San Leandro. Two job fairs will be held throughout the year, providing the opportunity for businesses and <br />organizations (including the city) to promote available jobs and resources, make connections with employers, <br />and apply for and obtain jobs in their community. <br /> <br />$3,750: Career Fair x three – Attendance at surrounding university career fairs to promote San Leandro <br />businesses, to increase awareness of the different types of industry and available jobs in San Leandro, and <br />gain access to a larger number of candidates for our businesses. <br /> <br />Destination San Leandro - $15,000 <br /> Promote San Leandro’s arts, culture, recreation, shopping, and food aimed at inviting the community <br />and visitors to enjoy the city. <br /> <br />$15,000 – Promote San Leandro Restaurants: Develop a restaurant week to celebrate the flavors of San <br />Leandro’s unique and diverse restaurants utilizing scavenger hunt technology, QR codes, social media <br />check-ins and more. <br /> <br /> <br />Business Retention– $33,750 <br /> Coordinate and convene forums, presentations and meet up events to educate, inform and connect <br />businesses to collaborate around common interests to maintain and further develop a business eco system. <br /> <br />$18,750 National Small Business Week 2024 - Provide the platform and planning for business education <br />seminars on several different topics; format to be determined, topics to be determined. <br /> <br />$7,500 San Leandro by Design – Summer 2024 - San Leandro by Design is a signature program focused on <br />bringing San Leandro towards its fullest potential. Programs are designed around relevant topics, bringing <br />diverse interests and stakeholders together in the form of lectures, presentations, and walking tours of plans <br />for development, updates from economic development organizations and inspirational storytelling of <br />successful cities. Topic to be determined. <br /> <br />$7,500 National Manufacturing Week October 2024 Celebration of San Leandro’s dense and impressive <br />manufacturing business sector. The Chamber will provide the platform, marketing, and promotion of tour <br />participation of companies on National Manufacturing Day and host a Manufacturer’s Appreciation Event at <br />the close of the week.
