Avoidance and mitigation measures for this species are provided in Section 2.2. Yellow -billed cuckoo Coccyzus americanus FT No effect. Does not occur in the Action Area and no suitable dense, wooded Rallus longirostris obsoletus habitat is present. California Ridgway's rail FE No effect. Does not occur in the Action Area and no suitable tidal/brackish marsh breeding habitat is present in and within Sternula antillarum browni 500 feet of the Action Area. California least tern FE No effect. Does not occur in the Action Area and no suitable nesting habitat, such as sandy beaches, alkali flats, or other hard -pan surfaces, is present. MAMMALS Salt marsh harvest mouse Reithrodontomys raviventris FE No effect. Does not occur in the Action Area and no suitable tidal/brackish marsh habitat is present. Acronyms CH = Critical Habitat (designated) FC = Federal Candidate FT = Federally Threatened DPS = Distinct Population Segment FE = Federally Endangered Based on a review of the distribution and habitat requirements of these species and habitat conditions within the Action Area, LSA determined that 15 of these species would not be affected by the proposed project because no suitable habitat is present in the Action Area and these species would not occur. These 15 species are included in Table A but are not further discussed in this BA. The remaining four species have either been recorded in the project vicinity or could occur based on the presence of suitable habitat: North American green sturgeon southern distinct population segment (DPS) (Acipenser medirostris), Central California coast steelhead DPS (Oncorhynchus mykiss), longfin smelt (Spirinchus tholeichthys), and western snowy plover (Charadrius alexandrines nivosus).
