IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-047 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE REIMBURSEMENTS FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> TO ATTEND STRATEGIC ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires for City leaders to gain skills and insight for leadership <br />training at university institutions and non-profit organizations in order to promote continual learning and <br />grow a professional bench of Council Members; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available for Council Members and staff leadership classifications to attend <br />a three-week Senior Executives in State and Local Government executive education program at the <br />Harvard Kennedy School; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available for Council Members and Staff leadership classifications to attend <br />the WELL UnTapped Fellowship Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approved Council Members can seek reimbursement from said budgeted funds for <br />travel/training costs that exceed stated amounts set forth in the City Council Member Handbook for this <br />purpose only. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That Council Member Xouhoa Bowen is approved for reimbursement of travel and training <br />expenses, not to exceed $18,750 incurred while attending the Senior Executives in State and Local <br />Government executive education program at the Harvard Kennedy School; and <br /> <br />That Council Member Victor Aguilar, Jr. is approved for reimbursement of travel and training <br />expenses, not to exceed $3,500 incurred while attending the leadership program for elected leaders at <br />the WELL UnTapped Fellowship Program. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the process for future allocations will be developed by the Rules <br />Committee for consideration by the full Council. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Ballew and passed and adopted this 20th day of May 2024 by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, and Mayor González (7) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: _________________________________ <br /> Kelly B.
