IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-049 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE RADIO ENCRYPTION KEYS FROM MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $318,169.47 THROUGH SOURCEWELL, A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGENCY WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department participates in the East Bay Regional Communications System Authority (EBRCSA) network; and WHEREAS, the California State Department of Justice bulletin released October 12, 2020, required police agencies within the State to encrypt their communications equipment to protect personally identifiable information when broadcasting the same over a police radio system by June of 2023; and WHEREAS, the EBRCSA network has selected Motorola Solutions, Inc. to provide encryption services to the radio communication system; and WHEREAS, the encryption will ensure interoperability on the EBRCSA network, and will bring the City into compliance with State and Federal regulations; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof and the City Manager recommends approval of the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said purchase quote substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and take all actions necessary to execute a purchase order with Motorola Solutions in an amount not to exceed $318,169.47.
