IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-054 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BROWN REYNOLDS WATFORD ARCHITECTS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $195,840 FOR THE FIRE STATIONS 9, 12 & 13 PROGRAMMING AND COST ESTIMATES PROJECT; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE INDIVIDUAL CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 5% (OR $9,792) OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO A CUMULATIVE VALUE OF 15% (OR $29,376) OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking consulting firms to perform research, analysis and study for the future replacement or renovation of Fire Stations 9, 12 & 13; and WHEREAS, after reviewing RFP responses from six consultants, staff recommends that Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. should be retained to perform the work of the Fire Stations 9, 12 & 13 Programming and Cost Estimates project in an amount not to exceed $195,840; and WHEREAS, Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. has agreed to the terms of the agreement pending Council approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the scope of work; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual change orders up to 5% of the original contract amount, or $9,792; and That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to negotiate and approve cumulative change orders up to a maximum of 15% of the original contract amount, or $29,376.
