Reso 2024-061 Comprehensive Update of the Administrative Code

IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-061 RESOLUTION TO ADOPT A COMPREHENSIVE UPDATE OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro is committed to ensuring that its administrative procedures and regulations are current, efficient, and reflective of best practices in municipal governance; and WHEREAS, the existing Administrative Code has undergone numerous amendments over the years, resulting in a need for a comprehensive review and update to eliminate redundancies, clarify language, and incorporate recent legal and procedural changes; and WHEREAS, the comprehensive update of the Administrative Code has been developed through a collaborative process involving City staff, legal counsel, and community stakeholders to ensure that the revised code meets the needs of the City and its residents; and WHEREAS, the update includes significant changes to the organizational structure of City departments, including the creation of new departments, the splitting of existing departments, and the reallocation of functions to improve efficiency and service delivery; and WHEREAS, the update also addresses the modernization of the City's boards and commissions, including the addition of new bodies to address emerging issues and the removal or consolidation of outdated or redundant entities to enhance governance and community involvement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that the comprehensive update to the Administrative Code, as presented, is hereby adopted.
