IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ORDINANCE NO. 2024-009 ORDINANCE ADOPTING NEW SPEED LIMITS, TITLE 6, CHAPTER 6-1, ARTICLE 7 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS OF 25, 30, 35, AND 40 MILES PER HOUR ON VARIOUS STREET SEGMENTS CITYWIDE WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro completed a Citywide Engineering and Traffic Study which revealed that various street segments could have their speed lowered; and WHEREAS, the lowering of speeds would better provide a quality of public safety. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Pursuant to San Leandro Municipal Code Section 6-1-700 and Section 22357 of the California Vehicle Code, the City Council hereby determines that the prima facie speed limit shall be 25 miles per hour on: • 143rd Avenue between East 14th Street and Washington Avenue • Bancroft Avenue between Estudillo Avenue and Blossom Way • Bancroft Avenue between Blossom Way and East 14th Street • Callan Avenue between East 14th Street and Huff Avenue • Catalina Street between Fairway Drive and Farallon Drive • Dutton Avenue between East 14th Street and Bancroft Avenue • Dutton Avenue between Bancroft Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard • Estudillo Avenue between East 14th Street and Bancroft Avenue • Estudillo Avenue MacArthur Boulevard and Chabot Terrace • Farnsworth Street between Lewelling Boulevard and Manor Boulevard • Farnsworth Street between Manor Boulevard and Purdue Street • Huff Avenue between Callan Avenue and Estudillo Avenue • Manor Boulevard between Wicks Boulevard and Farnsworth Street • Manor Boulevard between Farnsworth Street and Kesterson Street • Marina Boulevard between San Leandro Boulevard and Washington Avenue • Parrott Street between Hays Street and East 14th Street • West Juana Avenue between San Leandro Boulevard and East 14th Street • Williams Street between San Leandro Boulevard and Washington Avenue • Westgate Parkway between Walmart Driveway and Williams Street And the following streets shall be 30 miles per hour: • Alvarado Street between Davis Street and Marina Boulevard • Bancroft Avenue between Durant Avenue and Estudillo Avenue • Benedict Drive between Estudillo Avenue and Grand Avenue • Benedict Drive between Grand Avenue and Howe Drive (South City Limit)
