IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-094 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE INCREASES IN INDIVIDUAL CHANGE ORDERS FROM 5% TO 10% (FROM $97,941 TO $195,882) AND CUMULATIVE CHANGE ORDERS FROM 15% TO 20% (FROM $293,822 TO $391,763) FOR WASHINGTON AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION, PROJECT NO. 2018.4020 WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro did on April 3, 2023 award a construction contract to Redgwick Construction Company by Resolution No. 2023-030 for the Washington Ave. Reconstruction Project, Project No. 2018.4020; and WHEREAS, the City desires to expand the scope of the project to include additional work to the contract; and WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on budget, provide that subcontractors and workers are paid in a timely fashion, avoid as much as possible costly delay claims, and insure that the City completes projects and products that are to the City’s highest standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to negotiate and approve change orders is in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual change orders up to a maximum of $195,882, which is 10% of the original contract amount, and cumulative change orders up to a maximum of $391,763, which is 20% of the original contract amount.
