IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-097 RESOLUTION TO DESIGNATE THE CITY MANAGER, POLICE CHIEF, AND PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AS AUTHORIZED AGENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR GRANTS FROM THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR FEDERAL AND/OR STATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR DISASTER FUNDING WHEREAS, applying for grants is a normal and customary activity for the City of San Leandro; and WHEREAS, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) requires public entities to formally appoint and approve authorized agents that will engage with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services regarding grants applied for by completing Cal OES Form 130; and WHEREAS, the Cal OES Form 130 expires three (3) years from approval; and WHEREAS, the City’s most recent Cal OES Form 130 was approved by Resolution No. 2017-142 on October 16, 2017 and has expired; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends enacting said resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. that the positions of City Manager, Police Chief, and Public Works Director are hereby designated as authorized agents authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of San Leandro, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, this application and to file it with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under Public Law 93- 3-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act; and 2. that the City of San Leandro, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, hereby authorizes its agents to provide to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required; agents are authorized to provide to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required; and 3. That this authorization is effective for all open and future disasters up to three (3) years following the date of this resolution.
