IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-097 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO DESIGNATE THE CITY MANAGER, POLICE CHIEF, AND PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />AS AUTHORIZED AGENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR GRANTS FROM THE CALIFORNIA <br />GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR FEDERAL AND/OR STATE FINANCIAL <br />ASSISTANCE FOR DISASTER FUNDING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, applying for grants is a normal and customary activity for the City of San Leandro; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) requires public <br />entities to formally appoint and approve authorized agents that will engage with the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services regarding grants <br />applied for by completing Cal OES Form 130; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cal OES Form 130 expires three (3) years from approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City’s most recent Cal OES Form 130 was approved by Resolution No. 2017-142 <br />on October 16, 2017 and has expired; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends enacting said resolution. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />1. that the positions of City Manager, Police Chief, and Public Works Director are hereby <br />designated as authorized agents authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of San Leandro, a <br />public entity established under the laws of the State of California, this application and to file it with the <br />California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial <br />assistance under Public Law 93- 3-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and <br />Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the California Disaster <br />Assistance Act; and <br />2. that the City of San Leandro, a public entity established under the laws of the State of <br />California, hereby authorizes its agents to provide to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for all <br />matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required; agents <br />are authorized to provide to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to <br />such state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required; and <br />3. That this authorization is effective for all open and future disasters up to three (3) years <br />following the date of this resolution. <br />
