IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-104 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT FOR POST COLLECTION TRANSPORTATION OF SOLID WASTE AND ORGANICS WASTE, AND POST COLLECTION PROCESSING OF RECYCLING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND ALAMEDA COUNTY INDUSTRIES, INC. WHEREAS, efficient and dependable solid waste, recyclables, and organics waste processing are a core function of government and are necessary for public and environmental health; and WHEREAS, the City performed an open solicitation for post collection solid waste, recycling, and organics waste services and received two proposals for the same; and WHEREAS, splitting the post collection services between Alameda County Industries and Waste Management provides the best service and lowest cost to the community; and WHEREAS, an agreement with Alameda County Industries for post collection transportation of solid waste and organics waste, and post collection processing of recycling from February 2025 through February 2035 has been presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the agreement substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
