IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-105 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT FOR POST COLLECTION PROCESSING AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE AND ORGANICS WASTE BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND WASTE MANAGEMENT OF ALAMEDA COUNTY, INC WHEREAS, efficient and dependable solid waste, recyclables, and organics waste processing are core functions of government and are necessary for public and environmental health; and WHEREAS, the City performed an open solicitation for post collection solid waste, recycling, and organics waste services and received two proposals for the same; and WHEREAS, splitting the post collection services between Alameda County Industries and Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc. provides the best service and lowest cost to the community; and WHEREAS, an agreement with Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc. for post processing and disposal of solid waste and organics waste, from February 2025 through February 2035 are presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the agreement substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
