IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-114 RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE LETTER OF INTENT TO DONATE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND THE DONATED FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000,000 TO AID IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CARYDRIVE /HAAS AVENUE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE (WILL PROVIDE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF DONATED FUNDS FOR THE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT) WHEREAS, the Cary/Haas Pedestrian Bridge Association is an unincorporated association of concerned citizen(s) (Donor) that was formed to support the City of San Leandro’s (City) bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the City and the Donor share the common objective to restore bicycle and pedestrian access between neighborhoods and Bancroft Middle School; and WHEREAS, the $5,000,000 donation is restricted funding solely and exclusively for the Cary Drive/Haas Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That the City Council accepts the Letter of Intent outlining the Cary/Haas Pedestrian Bridge Association donation of $5,000,000 for the Cary Drive/Haas Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project, and authorizes the City Manager to appropriate the funds upon receipt and execute all documents related to the donation; and 2. That an appropriation of the donation of $5,000,000 in revenue account #701-3803 and expenditure account #210-38-904 is approved; and 3. That an original executed letter of intent shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution.
