<br />“Alternative Daily Cover” or “ADC” has the same meaning as in 27 CCR Section 20690.
<br />“Alternative Intermediate Cover” or “AIC” has the same meaning as in 27 CCR Section 20700.
<br />“Appliances” means discarded household appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, clothing washers and
<br />dryers, water heaters, dishwashers, etc., and similar items discarded by Residential Generators.
<br />“Applicable Law” means all Federal, State, County, and local laws, regulations, rules, orders, judgments,
<br />degrees, permits, approvals, or other requirement of any governmental agency having jurisdiction over
<br />the Collection, Transportation, and Processing of Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, and Solid Waste
<br />that are in force on the Effective Date and as may be enacted, issued, or amended during the Term of this
<br />Agreement. Applicable Law includes, but is in no way limited to, AB 939, AB 341, AB 1826, and SB 1383.
<br />"Approved Bulky Item Processing Facility” means the Zanker Resource Recovery Facility, located in San
<br />Jose, CA, which is operated by GreenWaste Recovery, Inc.
<br />“Approved Facility(ies)” means the Approved Reusable Materials Processing Facility and/or the Approved
<br />Bulky Item Processing Facility.
<br />“Approved Reusable Materials Processing Facility” means the Alameda County Industries, Inc. Limited
<br />Volume Transfer Operation, which is operated by Alameda County Industries, LLC.
<br />“Bin” means a Container with capacity of approximately one (1) to eight (8) cubic yards, with a hinged lid,
<br />and with wheels (where appropriate), that is serviced by a front end-loading Collection vehicle.
<br />"Bulky Item" means discarded Appliances (including refrigerators), furniture, tires (unmounted), carpets,
<br />mattresses, and similar large items which can be handled by two (2) people, weigh no more than one
<br />hundred fifty (150) pounds, and require special Collection due to their size or nature, but can be Collected
<br />without the assistance of special loading equipment (such as forklifts or cranes) and without violating
<br />vehicle load limits. Bulky Items must be generated by the Customer and at the service address wherein
<br />the Bulky Items are Collected. Bulky Items do not include E-Waste, abandoned automobiles, large auto
<br />parts, trees, C&D Debris, or items herein defined as Excluded Waste.
<br />“Business Days” means days during which the City offices are open to do business with the public.
<br />“California Code of Regulations” or “CCR” means the State of California Code of Regulations. CCR
<br />references in this Agreement are preceded with a number that refers to the relevant Title of the CCR (e.g.,
<br />“14 CCR” refers to Title 14 of CCR).
<br />“Cardboard” means corrugated fiberboard consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one (1) or two (2)
<br />flat linerboards, as is often used in the manufacture of shipping containers and corrugated boxes.
<br />Cardboard is a subset of Recyclable Materials.
<br />“Cart” means a plastic Container with a hinged lid and wheels that is serviced by an automated or semi-
<br />automated Collection vehicle. A Cart has capacity of twenty (20), thirty-two (32), sixty-four (64) or ninety-
<br />six (96) gallons (or similar volumes).
