September 3, 2024City Council Minutes <br />Approved as Submitted on the Consent Calendar. <br />5.j.24-357 Minutes for the July 3, 2024 Facilities and Transportation Committee <br />Approved as Submitted on the Consent Calendar. <br />CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS6. <br />City Manager Cameron announced that the State of California recently awarded San <br />Leandro with the coveted “Prohousing Designation,” which is a distinction given to <br />jurisdictions that have made an extraordinary commitment to supporting housing <br />production. Achieving this designation was a key goal in the City’s Housing Element <br />Update, which was certified by the State in early 2023. To date, only about 10% of <br />cities state-wide have received the Prohousing designation. By earning the Prohousing <br />Designation, the City now has priority access to housing, community development, and <br />infrastructure funding opportunities administered by the State. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS7. <br />Comments were made by approximately 3 people. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS8. <br />There were no items scheduled. <br />PRESENTATIONS9. <br />There were no items scheduled. <br />ACTION ITEMS10. <br />10.a.24-365 Resolution to Approve the 2024 San Leandro Economic Development <br />Strategy <br />Comments were made by approximately 4 people. <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Aguilar, Jr., seconded by <br />Councilmember Bowen, that this Staff Report be Approved. The motion <br />CARRIED by the following vote: <br />Aye:Aguilar Jr., Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, González III, Bowen, Viveros-Walton7 - <br />10.b.24-350 Adopt a Resolution to Accept the Letter of Intent to Donate and Authorize <br />the City Manager to Expend the Donated Funds in the Amount of <br />$5,000,000 to Aid in the Replacement of the Cary Drive/Haas Avenue <br />Pedestrian Bridge <br />Comments were made by approximately 1 person. <br />This matter was Approved <br />Page 3City of San Leandro
