Information and Assistance + Citizenship: <br />$152.21 per service unit: $83,106.66 = 546 service units (hours) <br /> <br />Information and Assistance: 468 units: 12 hours of office hours a week x 39 weeks <br />Citizenship: 78 units: 2 hours of class hours a week x 39 weeks (with a promise to encompass a min of <br />20 students) <br />VACCEB will provide 468 service units in information, assistance, referral, and translation (e.g., helping <br />clients enroll for public benefits, rental assistance, housing, etc.). These services are typically provided <br />in the client’s native language (e.g., Vietnamese, Chinese, Amharic, Spanish, etc.) during normal <br />business hours; Monday-Friday, and by appointment. VACCEB will provide service by phone, online, <br />and in person. While VACCEB serves all clients who need their services, the majority of the clients are <br />non-English speaking. The objective in providing this service is to help clients identify resources so <br />they can maintain maximum independence in their own home, to help them to overcome barriers to <br />economic and personal independence, and to have the necessary resources to afford continuity in their <br />own care. All information and referral services are provided in a culturally relevant and sensitive <br />manner. <br />Under the Information Assistance program, VACCEB will only provide the following services in English, <br />Spanish and Chinese: <br />● Public benefits enrollment (CalFresh, CalWorks, CoveredCA/Medi-Cal, SSI/SSA) <br />● Utilities/bills assistance (PG&E, Water) <br />● Housing (affordable housing and general apartment search) <br />● EDD/Unemployment questions <br />● Rental assistance <br />● IHSS (enrollment for recipients and providers through AC Social Services) <br />● Legal referrals (landlord disputes, immigration/visa questions) <br />● Citizenship test prep and N-400 assistance <br />● Green card renewals and other USCIS processes <br />● Health and wellness including resources for mental health <br /> <br />2. Citizenship <br />Citizenship: 78 units: 2 hours of class hours a week x 39 weeks (with a target to serve a min of 20 <br />students) <br /> <br />Citizenship classes are designed to prepare adult immigrants and refugees at the high beginning to low <br />intermediate ESL level to successfully prepare for and complete the naturalization process.
