IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2024-148 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE A CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS), SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,000 INTO ACCOUNT 150-21-162; AND TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENT NO. PT25058 WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) was established in 1967, and is responsible for administering the California Traffic Safety Plan, under the direction of the Governor’s Highway Safety Representative; and WHEREAS, funding from the Office of Traffic Safety can support a broad range of traffic safety operations for state and local law enforcement, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department applied for a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant aimed at improving efforts to decrease fatalities and injuries in accidents involving alcohol, drugs, and other major crash factors; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department has been awarded $60,000 in grant funding. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That the City Council accepts the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant award of $60,000; and 2. That an appropriation of $60,000 in Account 150-21-162 is approved; and 3. That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to execute all documents, and take all actions necessary to effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
