IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-149 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A DONATION <br />FROM GATEWAY BUENA PARK, INC. FOR THE SERVICES OF FOUR FLOCK SAFETY AUTOMATIC <br />LICENSE PLATE READER (ALPR) CAMERAS VALUED AT $30,100 FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS TO BE <br />PLACED AT THE MARINA SQUARE CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the Marina Square Center is located at 1201 Marina Blvd, San Leandro, CA and <br />consists of a mixture of retail and eating establishments; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Gateway Buena Park, Inc. is the legal owner of the Marina Square Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, year to date there have been over 200 theft related calls for service in the center; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Flock Safety’s (Flock) ALPR cameras have enhanced and aided crime prevention and <br />criminal investigations by discouraging criminals, alerting law enforcement to stolen or wanted vehicles, <br />and providing investigators with data on vehicles located within specified areas of the City of San <br />Leandro; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the donation of four Flock ALPR cameras that will be placed on the property of the <br />Marina Square Center will increase the total amount of City operated cameras from 82 to 86; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is no obligation to renew the services beyond the two-year period. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Council accepts the Gateway Buena Park, Inc. donation of four Flock ALPR cameras <br />to be placed at the Marina Square Center property for a two-year period valued at $30,100; and <br /> <br />That the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and take all action necessary to <br />effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution and the donation. <br /> <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Ballew and passed and adopted this 18th day of November 2024 by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (7) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ____________________________________ <br /> Kelly B.
