IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-162 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND ADOPT THE 2024 UPDATE TO THE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN <br />MASTER PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan must be updated every five years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro initiated a focused update of the City’s 2018 Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Master Plan in 2023; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission conducted three public meetings <br />during the planning process to receive public comment and provided input on the draft 2024 Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Master Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City undertook extensive public outreach during the planning process of the <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan guides the prioritization and <br />implementation of infrastructure projects and programs to support biking and walking as safe, equitable, <br />and enjoyable transportation options for people of all ages and abilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to §21080.20 and §21080.25 of the California Public Resources Code, the <br />City of San Leandro, as the lead agency, has determined that the proposed Bicycle and Pedestrian <br />Master Plan is statutorily exempt from environmental review. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that the 2024 <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is hereby approved and adopted. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Ballew and passed and adopted this 2nd day of December 2024, by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, Viveros-Walton, and Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Bowen (1) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Kelly B.
