IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-159 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A $30,000 <br />SURRENDERED AND ABANDONED VESSEL EXCHANGE (SAVE-24) GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION, DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS FOR ABATEMENT OF SURRENDERED AND <br />ABANDONED WATERCRAFT AT THE SAN LEANDRO MARINA AND SAN LEANDRO SHORELINE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Surrendered and Abandoned Vessel Exchange (SAVE-24) grant program is <br />designed to remove, reduce, and prevent the abandonment of recreational vessels before it <br />happens; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and the State of California, <br />Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways was presented to this City <br />Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. The SAVE-24 grant agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager or her <br />designee, the Public Works Director, of this agreement and all other agreements and <br />contracts necessary to affect this resolution are hereby authorized. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to appropriate $33,000 from the Shoreline Fund <br />Undesignated Fund balance into account 597-57-177 for the grant and matching funds. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 2nd day of December 2024 by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor Gonzalez (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Bowen (1) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
