Consulting Services Agreement between City of San Leandro and Last revised 01/13/2025
WPCP Structural Plan Review Exhibit A – Page 1 of 1
EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF SERVICES

LEAKING HYPO PAD
The former headworks station has a leaking hypo pad at the elevated ground floor slab that has caused
water intrusion, corrosion, and localized spalling at the slab soffit below. The existing floor framing
comprises a concrete slab spanning to concrete beams and girders. We will:
1. Review original drawings and photos of the damaged areas.
2. Provide initial repair options to you for review.
3. Develop sketches of the selected repair approach.
4. Provide a memo outlining our findings. The memo will include anticipated order of magnitude
pricing for the repair work.
The leaking will be repaired by others and the area with spalling is currently cordoned off. This proposal
does not include construction documents and calculations for permit, which we would be happy to provide
under an Additional Services agreement.

STEEL DIGESTER COVER MODIFICATIONS
We understand two new digester mixers are planned at the existing concrete digester tank. The work will
include a new access hatch and service box at each digester. During installation and servicing, the roughly
2,000 pound assembly at each mixer will vertically load the existing digester cover. The cover is
approximately 24 feet in diameter and appears to be constructed from radially oriented tube steel members.
A vendor has provided shop drawings for the mixers and service boxes, but has not designed connections
to the existing structure or assessed the existing structure under the added load. We will:
1. Document code requirements related to structural engineering calculations and drawings that will
be required for the proposed work.
2. Review the provided shop drawings and photos of the existing structure and identify any concerns
regarding connections to the existing structure.
3. Document required field measurements of the existing structure, if any.
4. Provide a memo outlining our findings and recommended next steps.
Our work will not include review of the shop drawing details aside from the overall approach and
connections to the existing structure. We will not perform calculations to verify the adequacy of any
structural members.

ADDITIONAL CONSULTATION
This proposal includes an additional phase to answer follow up questions and provide supplemental
structural consultation services for the Steel Digester Cover or other structural projects on a time and
materials basis.
Docusign Envelope ID: 19CAED29-6B12-42C2-A12A-EFB59AAE69B6
